With the rapid development of LED display technology, LED display products are showing a diversified development. Today's LED display is widely used in all walks of life. However, for novices, many professional terms of LED display are unknown, so what are the common professional terms of LED display?

LED brightness: the brightness of LED is generally expressed by luminous intensity, and the unit is candela CD; 1000 UCD (micro candela) = 1 MCD (millicandela), 1000 MCD = 1 CD. The light intensity of indoor single LED is generally 500ucd-50 MCD, while the light intensity of outdoor single LED is generally 100 mcd-1000 MCD, or even more than 1000 MCD.

LED pixel module: LED array into a matrix or pen segment, prefabricated into a standard size module. Indoor display commonly used 8 * 8 pixel module, 8 words 7 segment digital module. Outdoor display pixel module has 4 * 4, 8 * 8, 8 * 16 pixel specifications. The pixel module for outdoor display screen is also called bundle module because each pixel is composed of more than two LED bundles.

Pixel and pixel diameter: each LED light-emitting unit (point) that can be independently controlled in LED display screen is called pixel (or pixel). Pixel diameter ∮ refers to the diameter of each pixel, in millimeters

Resolution: the number of rows and columns of LED display pixels is called the resolution of LED display. Resolution is the total number of pixels of a display screen, which determines the information capacity of a display screen.

Gray level: gray level refers to the degree of change in the brightness of a pixel. The gray level of a primary color generally has 8 to 12 levels. For example, if the gray level of each primary color is 256, the display color of dual primary color screen is 256 × 256 = 64K color, also called 256 color display screen.

Dual primary color: Nowadays, most color LED displays are dual primary color screens, that is, each pixel has two LED chips: one is red light chip, the other is green light chip. The pixel is red when the red LED is on, green when the green LED is on, and yellow when the red and green LED are on at the same time. Among them, red and green are called primary colors

Full color: red and green double primary color plus blue primary color, three primary colors constitute full color. Because the technology of blue tube and pure green tube core is mature now, the market is basically full-color.

SMT and SMD: SMT is the abbreviation of surface mounted technology, which is the most popular technology and process in the electronic assembly industry; SMD is the abbreviation of surface mounted device
